Simply put, the fitness industry has by and large gotten things wrong over the past 4 decades.
Most routines are still based around the bodybuilding philosophy of isolated resistance training. This method segments the body into individual muscle groups and serves the sole purpose of growing big muscles. These workouts produce what we at West Loop Gym refer to as “SHOW” muscles.
Due to the ever-growing sedentary nature of modern culture, West Loop Gym along with the industry’s leading trainers and therapists has recognized a need for a more integrated and functional approach to resistance training. By combining dynamic exercises that promote muscular coordination and a strong focus on core stability, our training is able to refine one’s physique while also improving the quality of their overall movement.
We here at West Loop Gym believe in training your body to “GO” rather than only for “Show”! “Form Follows Function” and when addressed in this order you will begin to see sustainable results beyond your expectations!

One-on-one Personal Coaching
With one-on-one coaching the focus is on YOU!
Every session is designed specifically to meet your individual needs. Whether it is a sports specific goal, your return to the gym after injury, or you just like the personal attention, one-on-one sessions will elevate your motivation and assure your personal success.
Semi-Private Coaching (groups of 2-4)
We’ve found a semi-private setting to be the most effective way to deliver our exclusive training system. Working in groups of 2-4, you will receive the high level of coaching necessary to master the form and technique of the many exercises unique to West Loop Gym. Studies have shown a greater success rate for clients participating in small groups.
This is why we strongly emphasize our semi-private coaching program.
Small Group Coaching (10 Max)
Small group coaching is the way of the future.
These hi-energy conditioning based workouts are a sure way to ramp up your metabolism and improve your overall strength and function. Under the supervision of a personal coach, every exercise performed can be modified and explained to suit your skill and fitness level.

Why should I consider a coach?
Are you brand new to the gym experience, or have you ever sat in a gym wondering, “Why am I here, and what the heck is this exercise actually doing for me?” A common mistake made by most people is working out without a plan. Would you ever drive to an unfamiliar destination without printing out or at the very least researching the directions? The same holds true with a good exercise routine. Our coaching staff is prepared to not only pinpoint your destination, but to help you map out the most efficient and effective route to reaching your individual goals! And just like the navigation systems in your cars we will be there with detailed instructions cheering you on throughout your journey. Our coaches are also invaluable resources in helping you strategically plan the remaining 160+ hours a week when you are not in the gym

The days of trainers standing over their clients counting their repetitions as they painfully pump out uninspiring isolated bodybuilding exercises are over!
